PHOENIX (AP) ? Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says his deputies have arrested 49 people with warrants for failing to pay child support. Saturday's arrests were part of an effort by the sheriff's office to clear warrants issued for the arrested of parents who aren't paying to support their children. The sheriff's office says it served more than 180 child support warrants last year and cleared more than $1.2 million owned in past-due support. Sheriff Arpaio started the annual roundups in 2002.
